Madeline Sharpe Rubins
1910-2004
Madeline Sharpe, the older daughter of John and Edna Hemingway Sharpe, was born in Auburn, NY on June 8, 1910, and with her baby sister, Jeanne, were raisedd for several years after their mother's death by their Grandmama Hemingway and Aunts Eva and Lydia in Auburn.
Madeline graduated with a B.A. degree in 1932 from Western College for Women in Oxford, Ohio. She was married to John B. Rubins from 1933 until his death in 1960.
Madeline had a long career in social work, retiring from the Summit County Welfare Department in 1977. She was a longtime resident of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. She passed away on February 14, 1004, at the age of 93.
